GamelinG proudly presents Nervin from the Philippines. He has a long history of playing computer games and enjoys competition. Read all about his determination and strengths in this exclusive interview below.
1.) How did your passion for e-sports start?
I have been a gamer since I was young. I started playing games since Family Computer (Console Games) to PC games. I like playing competitively and I like reading strategies and analysing them. When I transitioned to PC games, I got so hooked up in the MMORPG games, built my own army and lead them to some victories as well.
2.) What motivated you to pursue casting as a full-time career?
As I've mentioned when I transitioned to PC games, I got so addicted in the MMORPG games and since esports did not exist at that time, MMORPG is our gateway to competitive gaming. I am commanding our gaming community to every wars/siege that we battle and as I also mentioned I like reading and analysing strategies so when esports was booming and shout casting was becoming a career I thought I could be a shout caster as well. Then from there it became my passion.
3.) How did the people in your lives supported and motivated you in this line of work?
My family are always supportive towards me with whatever I wanted to do. They always wanted me to be happy with the decisions I make. With regards to my friends they were also supportive since most of them are gamers as well.
4.) From an experienced and successful caster like yourself, what is the most important quality do you think a new caster should work on?
I am really not that experienced and successful yet, but I will not stop doing what makes me happy. In my honest opinion, every caster has their own unique ways of delivering the game. Better understanding with the game and strategies and add your unique personality as a character on commentating will let viewers identify you as a good shout caster.
5.) Comparing with the American and European e-sports industry, what do you think about the South East Asian e-sports industry?
NA and EU esports are so established already, SEA esports just started to catch up. SEA is not that behind though in-fact I'm happy to see the progress with SEA esports. Just going to have to be consistent and grow further.
6.) Seeing many e-sports teams in action, what kind of qualities do you feel that winning teams should possess?
A winning team has a lot of factor to consider. Chemistry, personality of each member and of course strategies, decision making and playstyle. But this will all boil down to how a team performs in that certain moment where they needed it the most. Every time a person or a team is under pressure, they became unsure of their decision. Some teams capitalize that as an advantage where they perform well even under pressure.
7.) If you were to say something encouraging to our readers, new casters and players what would it be?
Let us all enjoy the beauty of esports. It's fresh, interesting and exciting.
8.) How do you find GamelinG after casting for us for our PUBG events?
My first casting here in GamelinG was for PUBG Steam but, I really enjoyed doing it and I wanted to try casting PUBG Mobile as well.
9.) Would you consider to cast for other GamelinG events in the future?
I will be very happy to cast for future GamelinG events. No doubt!
Nervin enjoys strategically analysing gameplay strategy which would benefit the sophisticated viewer who are invested in competitive gaming. GamelinG wishes take the opportunity to thank his efforts and would definitely catch his interesting streams live in both PUBG PC and Mobile.
